Kelley Walker

Kelley Walker (American, b.1969) is a digital media artist, sculptor, and installation artist based in New York, USA. He was born in Columbus, GA, and later moved to Tennessee, where he got his BFA at the University of Tennessee in 1995. His unique and characteristic work brings to light important issues of consumerism and politics; he also uses iconic cultural images and advertising media as inspiration for his work.

Walker has been the subject of solo and group exhibitions worldwide. For example, his show at WIELS in Brussels, Belgium; Le Magasin in Grenoble, France; Modern Art Oxford in Oxford, United Kingdom; and Museum De Hallen, Haarlem in The Netherlands. His work was also included in prestigious shows, such as the 2005 Greater New York exhibition at P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center in New York and USA Today at the Royal Academy in London. He participated in the 7th Sharjah Biennial, the 2006 Whitney Biennial, and the 2007 Lyon Biennale.

His works are included in public and private collections such as: the Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, in New York;  Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, and Sammlung Goetz in Munich, Tate in London, among others.
