Christian Marclay
Born in California in 1955 and raised in Geneva, Switzerland, Christian Marclay is known for his innovative work combining collage, sound recording, photography, video, film, sculpture, and performance. For four decades he has explored the connections between the visual and the audible, examining the ways these sensorial experiences enrich and challenge each other. He has exhibited in prestigious venues around the world, such as the Pompidou Center in Paris, Tate Modern in London, Whitney Museum in New York, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. In 2011 he won the Golden Lion award at the 54th Venice Biennale.
