“Untitled” by the American artist Kelley Walker is a limited edition screenprint on PVC, which was published by MAMCO Genève in 2017 for the members of the museum’s association Circle of Friends.
This screenprint is part of Walker’s “Untitled” series exhibited at his retrospective at MAMCO Geneva. In this work, he uses a screen-printing technique inspired by Pop art, simultaneously alluding to critical themes of that period: the circulation and consumption of images related to the popular culture of that time.
Furthermore, “Untitled” conveys Walker’s exploration of “irreductable materiality”, using displacement and juxtaposing the circle’s different tones and shades, going from total black to transparency.
