The inks used for printing are thermochemical and change color from 27 degrees Celsius. The red diamond becomes yellow, the brown becomes orange, and the green becomes light green. These lithographs play with the most recognizable elements of Olivier Mosset’s practice: a geometrical form and a monochrome surface, each instilled with a transformational element.
This edition of lithographs has been produced in collaboration with MAMCO Geneva as part of Olivier Mosset’s retrospective currently on view until December 6, 2020. The exhibition reviews the artist’s career over almost 60 years, from the early experiments of the 1960s to his monumental recent works, via the painter’s reflections on artistic appropriation, monochrome painting, and shaped canvases.
