Drawings of 500 artists in the form of a directory
“Yellow Pages” is a project edited by John Armleder with the Team 404, his class at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig, Germany.
It contains original contributions of over 500 artists from all over the world, randomly overlapped and printed two times. The book is conceived as an improbable Yellow Pages directory. The question of how to use it and what type of communication it can lead to, remain open ones…
John Armleder is an artist living in Geneva. His work was widely exhibited and feature in collections of the most prominent institutions among the world, including the MoMA in New York and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. He also regularly curated exhibitions, and since 1997 realized several projects with Team 404.
The book was published at the occasion of the exhibition of the drawings of “Yellow Pages” (now part of the collection of the Cabinet des estampes of Geneva) at the Mamco, Musée d’art moderne et contemporain, in Geneva.
