What you find is what you get
The work of Erik Steinbrecher (*1963, Basel) has developed in two main directions: the areas of architecture and sculpture and the realm of photography. The artist not only realizes more and more projects in public spaces, but also takes a passionate interest in mass-media.
Steinbrecher’s “Superfundi,” a collection of photographs featuring hills, trenches, and graves, resembles a magazine. As a connected series of pictures, “Superfundi” could refer to a ludicrous, mysterious territory, pristine and devastated at the same time.
