Man as house
This artist’s book, conceived by Doug Aitken, is based on a surrealistic scenario: a man traveling all the time is dematerializing himself. He takes the form of the room he is living in. Produced as a film, with a main contribution of Udo Kier, the publication itself takes the shape of a man’s head. The images are accompanied by a text by the artist.
Doug Aitken (*1968) lives and works in Los Angeles.
This project is realized on the occasion of his solo exhibition at the Musée d’art moderne de la Ville de Paris in autumn 2005.
French version published by Paris-Musées.
